Every day is a fresh opportunity to learn, grow, and shine and it all begins at 8.40am when our classroom doors open. Children are warmly welcomed into their classrooms to settle in and begin their morning activities, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
Our official start time is 8.45am, and we encourage all pupils to be ready and raring to go by then. Arriving on time helps children make the most of their learning and ensures they don’t miss out on important instructions and valuable moments with their teacher and classmates.
Being punctual is a great habit that supports confidence, calm transitions, and a strong sense of belonging. Late arrivals after 8.45am are recorded in the register, and those arriving after 9.15am are marked as ‘late after registers closed’—which counts as an unauthorised absence. (You can find more details about this in our attendance policy.)
The school day ends at 3.15pm, when children can be collected from their classroom doors, often with big smiles and stories to share!
Let’s work together to make every day a great day at St Mary’s!
